National DEA Drug Take Back
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in on October 26th, 2019. The Drug Take Back addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
This year, take back locations will be at the Center Line Public Safety building, the Elks Lodge, and the Warren Police Department.

Red Ribbon Week
The WCPC took a visible stand against the misuse and abuse of drugs by celebrating Red Ribbon Week from October 23-31 as a collaborative effort with the cities of Warren and Center Line. This year’s celebration kicks off on Wednesday, October 23rd, with the Warren Civic Center lighting up the square red in promoting of a healthy way of living and drug prevention. Activities are scheduled throughout the week throughout local schools and in the community of Warren and Center Line. This year’s 2019 Red Ribbon Campaign Slogan is “Send a Message. Stay Drug Free.” Red Ribbon Week helps to encourage a healthy lifestyle choices by living drug free. The campaign brings together parents, schools, and businesses as we look for innovative ways to keep kids and communities safe and healthy.
